Ghost kitchen

What is Ghost kitchen?

A ghost kitchen is a delivery-only restaurant that cooks food without a dining room.

A ghost kitchen is a real restaurant setup where food is made for pickup and delivery only. There may be no tables, host stand, or walk-in guests. Phone orders matter because the phone is often the main way someone places a large pickup order, checks the menu, or asks for the right pickup door or unit number.

For example, a caller might ask for two smash burgers, fries, and extra sauce, then want the order ready in 20 minutes. A phone host can take the name, items, notes, and ready time, then send a clean ticket to the kitchen.

  • Useful when your team is busy cooking.
  • Helpful when the caller needs directions to the pickup spot.
  • Important for keeping the line clear during dinner.
