Missed call

What is Missed call?

A missed call is a call that rings the restaurant but is not answered before the caller hangs up.

A missed call is any call that comes in and does not get answered in time. In a restaurant, that often happens during dinner rush, when the phone is tied up, or when the front counter is helping in-house guests.

Example: on a Friday night, a sandwich shop misses 12 calls while the line is out the door. Some callers may try again, but some will move on to another place.

Why it matters for phone orders: missed calls can turn into missed pickup orders, missed catering leads, and missed reservation requests. Even one busy hour can create a pileup. A restaurant can review missed calls in the call history, then decide whether to use forwarding, a phone host, or a better after-hours setup. That is why many owners track them closely.
