Curbside pickup
What is Curbside pickup?
Curbside pickup is when the customer waits in or near the car and the order is brought out to them.
Curbside pickup means the food does not go to the counter. The customer stays near the car, and staff or a runner brings the order outside when it is ready.
In a real restaurant, curbside pickup is helpful for rainy weather, families with kids, or busy strip-mall parking lots. A caller might say, “I’ll be in the white Honda in front,” or “I can’t come inside.” The phone host should capture the car details or note the spot if your team uses them.
Why it matters for phone orders: curbside needs a clean handoff. The kitchen needs the name, the order, and any pickup note in the ticket. That way staff do not waste time searching the dining room for a customer who is waiting outside. Clear notes reduce confusion when several pickups arrive at once.
