Delivery commission
What is Delivery commission?
Delivery commission is the fee a restaurant pays on each delivery order handled by a third-party app.
Delivery commission is the percentage or fee taken from an order when a third-party delivery service brings in the sale. In the restaurant world, those fees are often around 15–30% per order.
Example: if a $30 order is placed through a delivery app and the commission is 25%, the restaurant may give up $7.50 before other costs. That adds up quickly on small-ticket orders like a burger meal, a single sushi roll, or a lunch combo.
Why it matters for phone orders: every direct phone order can feel different from a commission-heavy delivery order. Phone calls let you quote the guest, take the order directly, and keep the customer relationship in-house. If you want to estimate what those fees mean for your menu, use the Delivery app commission calculator.
