Catering inquiry

What is Catering inquiry?

A catering inquiry is a call about a larger food order for a group, office, event, or party.

A catering inquiry is when someone calls about a big order for a meeting, birthday, school event, office lunch, or family gathering. It is not a small walk-in meal. The caller may ask about trays, platter sizes, lead time, delivery, setup, and whether you can handle special requests.

For example, someone might ask for 10 trays of chicken parm, salad, rolls, and utensils for 40 people on Friday at noon. A phone host can collect the basics and hand the details to staff with a summary.

Phone orders matter here because catering calls often need extra attention. If the line is busy, the caller may move on quickly. See Catering inquiries for more on this call type.
